Retention
When your braces are removed, the retention stage of your orthodontic treatment will begin. The initial retention phase lasts for a minimum of 6 months, where you will be required to wear your clear retainers all the time. After that, you will need to wear your clear retainers for the rest of your life. You will also have a fixed wire between your lower front teeth and sometimes behind the upper front teeth as well. As a bonus you will receive bleaching gel, which can be used inside of your clear retainers. Your final orthodontic result depends on your retainers, so follow through with the hard work you've put in so far. Remember to remove your retainer before brushing, and brush your retainers before placing it back in your mouth.
